Blog 3: The Wind That Shakes The Barley Review

I usually like movies that are based on true stories. I don’t know if the story of Damien and Teddy actually happened, but the conflict for permanent Irish independence of British Empire, guerrillas and civil war is real. So that’s the main reason because I liked this movie.

My favorite character is Damien, because he fought until the end for a free Irish state, and what motivates Damien to join an IRA flying column, was the fact that a military interrogator rips out Teddy's fingernails.

One thing that I like about this movie is the ability to recreate those moments, all scenes felt so real, the performance of the actors and the atmosphere on this movie are excellent.

The only thing that I didn’t like on this movie is the scene when Teddy orders the execution of his brother. I have a brother younger than me, sometimes he gets a little bit weird, and he is lazy, we think the vey opposite about certain subjet, but I would never kill him.

My favorite scene is when Damien and Teddy were sitting face to face, and Damien says to Teddy that he wasn’t going to sell-out giving him information about the location of the other revolutionaries.
